Frequently Asked Questions

What is NPEC?

Northeastern Pennsylvania Employment Consortium (NPEC) was founded in 2000, initially established in the 1980s by the career centers of five private college and universities in Northeast Pennsylvania: Marywood University, Misericordia University, King's College, University of Scranton, and Wilkes University. The consortium originally functioned with the primary goal of sharing responsibilities and resources to create one annual employment fair for students and alumni of the five institutions. With 15,000 students combined, such collaboration enabled the consortium to attract a greater number of employers to recruit students than the institutions could on their own. NPEC strives to connect our Bachelors- and Masters- level candidates with high quality employment opportunities, as we are able to offer the employers the finest talent in the region.

As time went on the Consortium grew, and Keystone College joined the group in 2008. The group pooled its resources and profits from the annual job fair to collaborate on training opportunities and educational offerings for the career development practitioners and students from the six institutions.
